Guidance, Navigation, and Control:
Autopilot system capable of using 1000 preset way points set before takeoff. Navigation settings include airspeed, lat/long, and altitude. Navigation route can be updated from the ground station while the aircraft is airborne. Loitering is accomplished in a "race track" pattern with an estimated minimal leg length time of 4 minutes.

Air Segment Command and Data Handling:
9600 baud minimum bi-directional data transfer rate for aircraft navigation/performance data. Video/audio and payload data transmissions optional. Transmission methods: RS-232 port to cellular phone modem or RS-232 port to TNC and radio modem.

Ground Segment Command and Data Handling:
Laptop computer displaying the following real-time telemetry:

Safety:
Autopilot automatically aborts the mission and returns aircraft to takeoff point if auto-abort situation is encountered. Abort sequence can also be sent from the ground station.

If a critical item fails in flight, a separate abort command can be sent to the aircraft shutting down the engine and deploying an emergency recovery parachute.
